Videos of Henry's first few steps

He's been walking for a few weeks now, a few more steps each time. These two videos capture one of his first attempts (from just before his birthday) and then again a more confident attempt today at Tiny Town.

Tiny Town

Today we went to Tiny Town, a family attraction west of Denver with a miniature steam engine and a tiny city with miniature buildings all made by hand. The steam engine was really cool, and runs just as a full size locomotive would with a coal fired boiler. Charlie and Henry both had a great time and it turned out to be a pretty cool place to spend the day.

Happy 1st Birthday Henry!

We had Henry's first birthday party at a neighborhood playground with a few friends. It turned out to be a great day and as you can see in the pictures, Henry has a love for cake! We later opened all his presents at home...or rather Charlie opened all Henry's presents...but none of the pictures turned out too well. While Henry does enjoy all the gifts, Charlie has commandeered his favorites.

4th of July

Happy 4th of July!...I know it's a little late but we're a bit behind on our blog posting. WE spent the day at Boulder's Chautauqua Park, which is an old visting area at the base of the Flatirons founded in the 1850's when Boulder was first developed. They do a huge community get together with live music, BBQ'ing and games. We spent a few hours there but left just before a huge thunderstorm rolled through. The rest of the day was pretty low key, but a fun family day nonetheless.

Oh, and one picture was from the morning; Lindsy harvested the first produce from our planter garden. As you can see in the picture, Charlie is very proud of the first cucumber.

Air Day at the Boulder Airport

A few weeks ago the Boulder airport hosted an open house where they had some vintage aircraft, helicopters, fire engines, and personal jets on the tarmac for the public to view. It was a great time and absolutely the most fun Charlie has had around heavy machinery. He was running all over the runway with his toy plane "zooming" up and down and around the planes. There were several propeller planes that were taking off and landing on the adjacent runways that was fun to watch and even a fly-by from an old MiG fighter jet.
